Getting married is an exciting time and nobody expects it to end in divorce. Sometimes divorce is inevitable, but how do you know when it's really over? When do you know it's really time to file the papers and get divorced?

Four Signs Your Marriage May Be Over

1. The Good Times are Few and Far Between

Can you remember the last precious moment you and your spouse shared? If not, you may need to evaluate your marriage and consider divorce. When the good times become rare, it may be time to look into counseling and possibly divorce.

2. What-ifs Take Over Your Mind

When all you can thing about are fantasies with what-if scenarios, your marriage may be nearly over. We all have dreams, but when they become so powerful you can't shut them off, you may not be happy in your marriage. If this is the case, it's time to look at the options, especially if you feel like you need to escape regularly.

3. Dirty Fights are Often

Fighting is normal, but when it leads to dirty name calling and actions, such as cheating, it's gone too far. When the fights become a way of life, it's time to evaluate your marriage and what you really want out of life.

4. You're Constantly Irritated by Them

Maybe it's not even something they do, but their mere presence irritates you. If this is the case, there's an issue you may not be able to fix here. Divorce may be the only way to free yourself from the unhappiness.

If your marriage is on its last legs and you've tried every other option, it might be time to file for divorce. This isn’t a decision to make lightly, but sometimes it’s the only way to move forward with your life.
