They said that the days are already gone when women believe in marriage and that all they want to do is stay at home, care for the kids, and be mindful of her husband’s needs. This is what men have to say, whenever they are being asked to describe marriage of today.
Marriage 2.0 is what they use to describe what marriage is like during current times. It is said to be the worst thing ever happened to married couples, especially after the changes that happened with the divorce laws, which resulted in more couples filing for divorce as soon as they feel that the marriage is falling apart. This is what they call the No Fault Divorce Law too, which is practiced in certain states in the US, such as Michigan.
Gone are the days when the spouse who cheated or was the reason for their failed marriage is going to be the one who will be penalized. This is an old fashioned divorce. Today, due to the emergence of Marriage 2.0, a no-fault divorce, both parties will end up in turmoil, especially the one who is earning more.
Due to the newly revised divorce law, the higher earner spouse will always be the one who will give more to the other parther. The question is what if the high earner spouse was the one who has always kept the vows of their marriage?
The thing about marriage 2.0 is that it hits both parties negatively. However, it hits the spouse who earns more harder because the court will always find the low earning spouse and the homemaker (usually the wife) as the one who deserves all the help gained from the high earning spouse.
This is why some men complain about their ex wives asking for support after divorce leaving them with absolutely nothing, while the ex-wife lives her life alone with the kids (or with someone else), enjoying the cuts from the ex husband’s pay check month after month.
