Women are quick to name multiple stereotypical reasons why a man might cheat.  It is emotionally easier for a woman to understand and work through the infidelity if there is a ‘reason’ that the infidelity happened.  Here’s a look at four myths often used to describe why men cheat.

Mid Life Crisis

A true midlife crisis will often be accompanied with additional signs, not just an affair by itself.  

Although the affair is a very common component to the midlife crisis, you will also see classic signs such as a new sports car or motorcycle, new gym membership and workout regimen, new trendy clothes and haircut and maybe a drastic career change.

Young and Sexy Arm Candy

Willing and able is more likely what is fitting the bill.  Young and sexy normally go for young, sexy, single and available. More often than not, the affair is about sex, not what you are going to be taking out in public and parading around.

Not Enough Sex in the Marriage

Even wives with a high sexual drive have had their husbands cheat on them. Sometimes the reason for cheating is as simple as, they were weak at the right moment at the right (or wrong) time, depending on how you would like to word it.

“He is a man, they cheat”!

According to studies, cheating is not just a male trait.  Women are increasingly having affairs while the percentage of men cheating has remained steady. Women tend to have an ability to be more cautious and discreet about the affair, which enables them to not get caught and admit the infidelity.

After reading this you may find yourself thinking that all men are pigs and will cheat on you.  This is not necessarily the case.  There are plenty of faithful men just waiting to have a wonderful, trusting and loving relationship.
